Shamrock shake switch up

Oh, how I remember Shamrock Shakes when I was a kid.

Each year, my anticipation built until I had one in my little hands and took the first sip and remembered…that I didn’t like them. At all.

There was a funny taste that I couldn’t identify and one sip was all it took to remind me of that.

Until the next year, that is.

I haven’t had one in years…since I finally realized that they were never going to taste good.

But there’s something about that minty green shake that still makes me look.

So, when I saw this recipe for a homemade Shamrock Shake, I knew I had to try it wanted to make one for the Katie and Matthew.

And this version of the Shamrock Shake, my friends? Amazing!

It's funny. I have never had a Shamrock Shake, in any version. Yet, all this discussion of it has made me consider going to McDonarlds (which I haven't been to in a long time.)

Now I don't have to! Yippee!

  5. Confession: I've never had a shamrock shake.

Katie must have LOVED it (oh, and you too). It's these little things that she will remember when she's grown, and make your feel like the rock star mom that you are.

we have company over all weekend meaning I will be the only girl out of 7 boys/men. That’s beside the point, I think I might whip these up for a special treat. Thanks for sharing! And do I dare say that I’ve NEVER had a Shamrock shake?!

What are you doing to me, Nichole?! Between the yummy looking header and now this! I have a total weakness for ice cream! I think I'm in trouble.
    Have a Happy St. Patty's Day! =)

I know that St. Patty's Day has come and gone but I am just seeing this and it looks great! I am all over this recipe tonight for dessert for my girls (well, and for my husband and I too).

    That looks so good!

I never could tell what a Shamrock shake was supposed to taste like. Though now they do seem to taste more like mint.

Yummy! I wanted to try to make these this year but we ended up being way too busy! I found your blog on the KCRA A-list and I wanted to stop by and say hi as I am also a fellow Sacramento blogger! :)

  14. My daughter kept yammering on about wanting to try a shamrock shake so I took her to get one. When I tried a sip I realized that the flavor is made for kids and not adults. That being said, back in the day they were da bomb! I may have to try your recipe…
