Fresh Air and Joy

Fresh air, time spent completely off the grid, and the ability to give Craig, Katie, and Matthew my undivided attention brought me tremendous joy this week.

I took no fewer than 4,839 photos in four days of camping, but I’ll go easy on you and just share a handful (okay,a huge handful!).

Matthew, waiting patiently as we set up the campsite…

There’s something about camping that brings Katie a sense of peace…she is so at ease and happy…

Matthew is so in love with his new shoes, he would barely let us take them off…

Why yes, Matthew is wearing Katie’s hand-me-down pajamas. Don’t judge! I looked everywhere for footed fleece jammies and it turns out you can’t find them in August. Go figure. Just focus on the sweet doughnut faces.

Oh, sugar, where have you been all my life?

The best seat in the house…

You really can’t beat three trucks from Target’s dollar aisle…

…unless it’s a balloon on a rubber band. Does anyone remember these? So much fun!

He acts like I never put the camera down or something…

Let the sand throwing commence…

Sand between my toes will forever make me homesick for Maine…

I melt… (note the sand in the corners of his mouth he ate a peck, at least!)

…and I melt some more…

Boundless joy…

Did I mention I melt?

Some of you asked how Katie reacted to all of that sugar she consumed while camping. Here’s your answer…

If you’ve made it this far, thank you so much for peeking!

There is something about camping that soothes our souls and recharges us as a family. So much joy.

Now, it’s your turn! What brought you joy this week? Please share!

So fun!! You have nice feet hehe and a gorgeous pedicure!

Love the photos, your babies are ADORABLE.

Rainy mornings brought me joy this week (it's so hot here normally). Have a lovely weekend, Nichole.

    Adorbs!

It looks freezing there. Was it freezing? Did you make smores? And swirl the rock candy around in hot cocoa?

  3. Their enjoyment is so obvious and infectious. I treasure those moments, when little ones show me how to have fun in ways I never really appreciated.

    Dylan loves his crocs!

We had a patience trying week here, but we also had a summer rainstorm that left splashable puddles in the driveway. It was worth every minute we were late to play in the puddles, even though Dylan managed to get muddy legs, LOL

Hi Nichole, love the photos of your babies camping! Where did you go? I think I told you about our beach camping days in Watsonville (by Santa Cruz). I love Matthew's crocs..Max has the same green ones and it is his favorite color!!!! Happy times!
My joy this week was taking Max to Art Beast with his best buddy and realizing how much they have grown since we visited last year!

The pouty lips are my favorite! Aliza looked at Matthew this morning and said "baby!" which I take to mean "ooooh baby hot stuff"

So funny, same kind of thing… vacationing with the family made me SO happy. Hikes in the mountains, trips to the lakes, and about a million pictures. I'm still going through them all, but hope to post soon. What kind of camera/lens do you use? The pictures look great!

Could these kiddos be any cuter? I think not…

Gorgeous pictures! Looks like you had a great time!

Those trucks from Target's dollar aisle? We have the same ones! And those balloons on rubber bands used to be one of my favorite things! I would put rice in them to make a bunch of noise though. ;)
