That's so cool, I'm sure both of you had a lot of fun. I'm not so brave to use real paint with my little boy, chalk is what we are using outside right now.

  2. Kir thekircorner.com

Ooooh those pictures of your beautiful daughter…that smile is so gogeous. So happy you allowed her paint and smiles ans creativity (you are braver than me for sure!) Oh Nic, these photos are just stunning!

  3. Nancy C npoj.blogspot.com

    You do take lovely pictures!

  4. Jen Has A Pen jenhasapen.com

  7. Mama Track mamatrack.com

What a beautiful moment! Thanks for sharing it with us. And giving me the idea to go outside.

  8. Klz

Oh, I just love her little ponytail

  9. I love that idea! We will try it for sure. I am jealous that Katie is managing to paint without mixing all of the colors togeter :)

  10. JDaniel4's Mom jdaniel4smom.com

She looks so happy painting! I love your splat mat!

  11. John

Absolutely beautiful pictures (and the kid ain't too shabby, either). Thanks for sharing :-)

  12. Bod for tea bod-for-tea.blogspot.com

Gorgeous gorgeous photos! Painting outside is sooo much fun. Here's another idea for you… put paper on the ground, sprinkle poster paint powder on it randomly and let her loose with a paintbrush and water. The colours POP out and it's like magic :D

  13. gigi kludgymom.com

I love the picture of her hand!!

  14. Beautiful pictures! And it looks like she had great fun!

  15. Everything about this is perfect: the activity, the photography, your beautiful girl.

    Just love it.

  16. jennheffer

Soooo awesome! That pic of her hand is really beautiful, as well as the last shot!!! Well, obviously they are all amazing! ;o)

  17. Yuliya shesuggests.com/

I'm laughing out loud over here! Lovely photos and subject. Hilarious mommy.

  18. sugarbowlmix

Ah, the paint battles…..She looks so happy and your pictures are so beautiful!

  19. Mad Woman adiaryofamadwoman.com

Thank you for the reminder! I keep forgetting we have (that same) easel for Maddy. I so love what seeing what their creative minds produce.

LOVE your photography BTW..AND she is as gorgeous as her mommy!

  20. Those are beautiful photos.

Such fun. I find my daughter is at the age I get too stressed by mess, even outside. Soon… right?

Where did you get that drop mat. It look very handy…

  21. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you, Kelly. We bought the mat at One Step Ahead, an online baby/child store. :)

  22. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you, my lovely friend. :)

  23. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

She was elated. I just can't bring myself to let her paint in the house.

  24. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you so very much! :) I don't get the camera out nearly as often as I should.

  25. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you, Julie! You are so incredibly kind. :)

  26. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

She really did, Ally! Good thing you couldn't see just how stressed it made me! ;)

  27. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you so much, Gigi! That's my favorite too. I love that teeny speck of paint.

  28. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

I love the idea of the poster paint powder. Where can I buy that? And is it washable? Because if it is, it would be so fun in the tub!

  29. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you so much, John! We think she's pretty cute. ;)

  30. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you so much! We used to use it in the house under her high chair. So handy.

  31. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Honestly, she is so organized and methodical that I can't even imagine her thinking to mix them. Let's hope it stays that way! ;)

  32. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you so much! She's been asking for a haircut lately. She's never had one, so it's a big, frightening, I'm-not-sure-I'll-survive-it idea.

  33. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Where paint is concerned? Outside is always best. Second only to at someone else's house! ;)

  34. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you so much. :) I'm trying to soak these days in.

  35. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

    Thank you, Galit. :)
I love those days when the sun is just right for some great photos.
She rarely smiles at the camera anymore. I think she was so distracted that she didn't think to fight me. ;)

  36. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you! That's my favorite too…I just love that her hands stayed so clean except for that one little spot of paint. :)

  37. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Thank you so much, Nancy. :)

  38. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

    Thank you, Kir!
She was so happy to be outside painting.
Keeping the camera in MY hand distracted me from the anxiety of her actually having a paintbrush in HER hand! ;)

  39. Nichole inthesesmallmoments.com

Yes! Chalk is a much better choice…one that we use on a daily basis. Paint only comes out when I'm feeling particularly brave. :)

  40. Tracie fromtracie.com

SO much fun…..and that last picture is picture perfection.

  41. Jessica fourplusanangel.com

So so sweet and I have to say, I'm envious that Kate still has a "baby face" my McKenna already has lost hers :(.

  42. ksluiter

Katie is so beautiful. I would love to say it's the name, but she looks so much like you, my dear.

And paint? you are so brave.

  43. Tonya lettersforlucas.com

    That face! Awwww. So beautiful.

Lucas loves to paint and is getting an easel for his birthday!

  44. sherrikuhn

Oh, I missed this one! So adorable…don't you just love being outside with them when you can?

    Summer is coming, my friend!
