Games of Joy and a Recap

The 348 games of Brown Bear, Panda Bear that I played with Katie this week brought me joy.

I love seeing her try to strategize her moves and the look of recognition on her face when she realizes that she’s won makes me smile. But what I love most of all is that she’s just as happy when I win.

Which, sadly, isn’t often.

How about you? What brought you joy this week! Please share. :)

  1. Shannen

What brought me joy this week was the arrival of my in-laws for a few days. We live far away from all of our family so when we gets visitors, we celebrate!

  2. Efloraross

Took SB for her first real hairdo today. She's had tons of haircuts, but this was a "do." She got the cutest bob. Her first blow dry. Some glitter nail polish and purple butterfly clips in her hair. Oh, and my mom bought her a magic wand. She was in heaven. It was a joyful experience for sure!

  3. MamaRobinJ

Seeing C playing with our old toys (my post for today – was so excited I had to take a pic and write about it). The fact that he slept in his own bed by himself last night, finally! Some good runs. And also finally, after feeling awful for so long, I'm starting to feel better. I might even beat this PPD soon.

  4. My 4yo is so into her imaginary play this week. She has a big pink Little People school bus that puts her Squinkies, Littlest Pet Shop and other random small toys in, gives them all voices, has long, complex scenarios play out in her sweet alien-chipmunk-on-helium voice. So cute. So sweet.
My 6(in a week)yo son has similar adventures with his Legos. He builds new heroes/enemies and has full hand-to-hand combat, leaders usurped, teams working together to save someone, the whole thing.

I pretended many times this week that I was 'busy reading' when in fact I was just listening to them working their little worlds on other sides of the room. Love.

  5. Cate

Playing with my daughter on the deck in her wading pool. She loved just playing in the water with some cups and a plastic colander from the kitchen. Simple things!

  6. Tracie

My daughter wrote me the sweetest poem, just from her heart. It made me tear up in the most joyful way.

  7. Sherri

So sweet! But sometimes YOU might want to win, too! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you…

  8. alison

Listening to my boys and half the neighborhood playing baseball in our backyard. Brought a smile to my face thinking of all the fun, summer days ahead.

  9. galitbreen

The sun, a double rainbow, seeing my girl kick butt on the softball field! XO

  10. SquashedMom

Swimming with my boys today, our first time in a pool this season. My guys LOVE water, their joy is infectious.
