Along the way…

If you had told me on April 15th, 2010, as I pained over every single word of my very first blog post, that I would be here, less than a year later, writing my 200th post, I’m not sure that I would have believed you.

When I wrote that first post, I had not one blogging friend. I followed about twenty people on Twitter and for the longest time, only eight people followed me. I remember hitting publish and wondering if anyone aside from my mother would even see my words.

In those early days, I wrote some posts that I loved but few others read, like this one (not a single comment!). And posts like this one that made me believe that I truly needed to write). Along the way, I’ve written some posts that I’m so very proud of, posts that helped me to process what I was feeling and thinking, posts that will always feel like my babies.

There are days when I wonder what I’ll write tomorrow, never mind months from now.

I better start brainstorming!

Thank you to everyone who reads my words. I appreciate each and every one of you.

If you hadn't started, we'd never have meant. Your friendship means the world to me, so if nothing else, I'm thankful for this blog just for that.

There is, of course, your beautiful writing.

Also, no one's ever texted me from the next bed before. If THAT ain't friendship, I don't know what is..

    xo

  2. 200 posts! Congratulations!

You should be so proud of what you have accomplished in one year. One year?!?! Amazing. Simply amazing.

  4. SquashedMom

I went back and left you a comment on your first post, just because I could.

    Congratulations on number 200!

(I was going to do a special "looking backward" post on the occasion of my 100th post, but then it fell right on the day of my gall bladder surgery and that didn't work at all, the present being much too all consuming to be dwelling on the past.)

You are such a lovely writer and generous cyber-friend. I can't wait to see where the next 200 posts take you. Love to you, always.

I remember when I first started out and had no comments for a long time. I got discouraged but kept plugging through.

It was because of you and a few others that I started my own blog. I had been on twitter for over a year. Suddenly I was followed by "mommy bloggers". I started reading. I gained a few more after leaving comments. I became intrigued. I jumped in. I read a lot of blogs every day. I don't always comment, but I read.
There are 5 blogs I make sure to read daily. Yours is one. You have been so supportive and kind. And I have enjoyed watching you expand your horizons. This a wonderful place you all have invited me to visit.
    Congratulations on your 200th post!
I'll be back for 201 and beyond.

  9. Congrats on 1 year and 200 posts! I'd never know that you started just a year ago. I often read your blog and look to you as a blogging expert so I can't believe you did this all in just 1 year! Give me hope being a blogging newbie.

Isn't it crazy to look back to the early days! I have more than most, as it took like 2 years before anyone but my friends read my blog, but it's still weird to remember when having a single comment on a post, a comment written by someone I knew in real life, was SO freaking exciting!

  16. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that you decided to press the "publish" button.

Or one of the dearest friends I've had in a long time might never have found their way to me.

Or, I might not have found my way to her.

    Whichever. ;)

  17. I closing in my 1 yr blogaversary too – March 1st. Congrats! You've done a wonderful job.

Hey! I didn't realize you were so new – I still think of myself as completely green at all this and I've been blogging since November of 09.

Don'tcha hate it when you write your soul out and there's nothing but crickets in the comment section? Here's to lots of comments in your future, and many more words to be read.

The funny thing is that I was shocked when I saw that I had 199 drafts.
If you asked me to name them, I'd have a hard time.
But, as I went back through and looked at them, I felt like I was with rediscovered old friends.
    Happy sighs.
Thank you so much for reading!

Happy number 200! It is hard to believe that you could have ever had a time when you wondered if anyone was reading or conjured up a comment-less post. I am so glad that our paths have crossed and look forward to each and every time you hit that publish button in the days and years to come.

Congratulations on your 200th post and on creating such a great blog! Your message today is very inspirational for me a s a new blogger, especially when I think about the posts with no comments. So glad to have found you!

  33. Alexandra174

    Congrats, honey.

Life is so perfectly placed out.

Because you began this blog, I posted here with a special moment, which Ann Imig happened upon, which she encouraged me to audition for her LTYMshow with, which made Wendi aarons notice me, which had me guest post at Mouthy Housewives, which led me to Marinka, which had me guest post at Motherhood in NYc.

All because of a blonde woman with 2 children, in California, hitting Publish on April 15, 2010.
