Plan B

The holiday season is stressful enough without having to obsess over guessing which gifts your spouse might like for Christmas. So, as you’ll remember, nearly two weeks ago, I put together a list of things that I would love to have so Craig wouldn’t have to worry his handsome self a bit.

I’m all helpful like that.

It was then that I asked Craig to compile a similar list from which I could choose a few things that he might truly like to have.

I have yet to see said list.

So, in the event that the list never actually surfaces, I have taken matters into my own hands and I’ve spent a just a few moments putting together a shopping list to use as my official Plan B.

Now, I’d like to give you a peek at it and ask if you can think of any great items that I should add to my list. Because … well, because I want so badly for him to have a happy Christmas morning.

So here goes, in no particular order…

Perhaps he’d enjoy this…

Or maybe this would brighten his days…

Or something that we could both use…

And what husband wouldn’t appreciate a lovely slow cooker?

Or how about a lovely blinged out coffee mug for the office?

Or perhaps he’d enjoy learning how to bust some new dance moves?

Maybe he would enjoy a package of nothing, perfect for the person who has everything, or at least the person who refuses to give his eager wife a working list.

Bring it, Craig.

‘Cause I’m not playin’.

I'm thinking the "I love my wife" shirt might do the trick. I can NEVER buy a gift for my husband because the only things he really wants are big ticket items like cars and vacations. I really wish he would give me more of an idea but he doesn't. Oh well… he'll end up with nothing but my love and devotion. As usual.

  2. bywordofmouth

LOL, Carolyn, think love and devotion goes a long way … that and not being a celebrity this week!
I vote for the Wife shirt – its a must … may be perusing Amazon in a minute!

  3. Rachel

LOL!! I am dying! This is so funny. I so think you should get him the Snuggie for 2!!! LOL!!!

  4. Rachel

Wait, I changed my mind- I think the blinged out coffee mug would be appropriate for Craig!

  5. Alison aPearantlysew.blogspot.con

This is hilarious! I say go with the awful Christmas sweater :)

  6. Sherri

Totally the first shirt. I mean, once he has that what else does he need?

I'm with you, Nichole, these guys are SO hard to buy for! If mine wants something, he buys it. And there just isn't much that he wants, either. I am stumped, so I may use one of your ideas! Bling mug's looking pretty good….

  7. Jenilee

I’m liking the box of nothing… it is perfect!!! :D

  8. Cheryl @ Mommypants

wtf is up with that coffee mug? Especially with the burberry background.

  9. kris

    Bring it?

    You are all gangster-wife!

    I love that!

  10. The Nothing Gift is FABULOUS!!!!!!

  11. Yuliya

Let's get real, the slow cooker is an awesome gift for him, the gift of home cooked yumminess! Or you know go with the snuggie, either way.

  12. Nichole

Love and devotion don't wrap easily though, do they? ;)

  13. Nichole

I'm fond of the wife shirt as well…an added bonus is I would make sure that it was always clean so that he could wear it OFTEN! ;)

  14. Nichole

Can you picture us sitting on the sofa, tweeting in our snuggie built for two? I am dying.

  15. Nichole

Yes, Boo Yah Dad could rock that mug. ;)

  16. Nichole

That sweater is fabulously hideous, isn't it?

  17. Nichole

We seem to have a strong push for the shirt.
You have no idea just how tempted I am to actually order it!
Go with the bling mug, Sherri! ;)

  18. Nichole

I know!!! That's what I was wondering. Apparently, they're trying to class it up. ;)

  19. Nichole

You know me, keepin' it real. ;)

  20. Nichole

    I know, right?
I might order it just to have it on hand!

  21. Nichole

Wouldn't that be a great gift to have on hand?
That's probably what he'll end up with, too!

  22. Nichole

The slow cooker is calling my, I mean, his name.
I was dying as I was looking at the snuggie website. Seriously, who knew they had so much variety?!

  23. Elizabeth Flora Ross

LOL! My hubby went so far as to order/buy all his own gifts this year and simply give them to me to wrap. Convenient, yes. And I certainly won't have to worry if I am giving him something he wants. ;) But I hate that there will be no surprises for him under the tree. So, I am making a movie of video clips and pictures of him with our daughter. It's really turning out nicely. I know he will love it.

  24. Cate

HAHAHAHAHA. I showed my husband that mug and he said, "That is the greatest mug ever. You should buy that."

Of course, it is truly terrible….but is it wrong that I am tempted to order it for him as a joke?

  25. Christine Marie

    I am really pissed.

I cannot believe I did not think of that nothing BS first! I want to know who is making money off of that?!!! LOL!

  26. I think one of THE best gifts for a husband is a massage for you.

HIS life will be soooo much better if you are relaxed, happy, soothed.

His household will run more smoothly.

    The sex will be better.

In fact, I do not think there is a single better Christmas present for him in the entire world.

  27. KLZ

I really, really hope he gets the coffee mug. Really.

  28. ksluiter

i am a fan of the mug. I would love to see cort swigging his morning coffee from that thing. awesome.

  29. Alicia

LOVE this post! Very cute! I personally think you should gift him with a Snuggie!

  30. Mad Woman

I'm with Lori. A massage for you is exactly what he needs. But the ugly Christmas sweater, delivered with an innocent smile just may teach him a lesson.
I am now inspired to shop for my Adonis. He does need a new sweater.

  31. andygirl

I really like the "I love my wife" T shirt. because not only does it remind you (and him) of his never-ending love, but it reminds all the wayward skanks that he is taken. it's win-win.

  32. Nichole

Are you using iMovie? We have that program, but I have yet to figure out how to use it.
That will be such an amazing gift, Elizabeth!

  33. Nichole

That mug makes me smile every time I look at it. ;)

  34. Nichole

Can you even imagine if we'd have come up with that nothing gift first?
We'd have been set for life. :)

  35. Nichole

We use to go for couples massages all of the time before the kids came along.
    Oh, those were amazing.
Maybe I should book myself that massage…for his sake, of course.

  36. Nichole

That mug is all sorts of awesomeness, isn't it?

  37. Nichole

That mug is pretty popular. Maybe we could order it in bulk?

  38. Nichole

That snuggie is hysterical. When I looked at their site for the photo, I was shocked at all of the choices. There's a snuggie for every occasion. Who knew?

  39. Nichole

There are so many lovely sweater choices out there too. I had a tough time narrowing my selection. ;)
    Adonis would rock the sweater.

  40. Nichole

Wayward skanks…how much do I love that term?!
    Thank you for the giggle!

  41. This Daddy

OH NO. Please not the slow cooker. That means more roast. I cant handle the roast. I will wear the shirt and even the sweater if now cooker. Please.

  42. CDG

    I thought we discussed this?

6 pack of Fruit of the Loom's classic tighty whities
    6 pack tube socks

    done and done.

  43. I absolutely love this. I just saw some dude driving the other day with an "I love my wife" bumper sticker stuck to the window of his truck…I can just imagine the look on Hub's face if I gave him that…muahahahaha

The mug is good too. Very nice choices…

  44. whatangiedidnext

  45. Lyndsey

I think this list is the BEST! All good choices…but the "nothing" gift is priceless!

  46. Alexandra174

Oh my gosh, the mug with the bling. I want it.
